Sylvans at the Texas Legislature

On April 30, 2025 the SFA Sylvans were recognized at the Capitol in Austin in both the House and the Senate of the 89th Legislative Session of the Texas Legislature. Five students - President Paige Sumner, Vice President Holly Parkin, Conclave VP Trent Kline, Treasurer Katie Grenier, and Sergeant-at-Arms Maddie Sweeten - were present on the House floor as State Representative Joanne Shofner presented House Resolution 804 to the chamber. The Sylvans were recognized in the galley later that morning in the Senate with the presentation of Senate Resolution 448. Both measures were passed.
